Karl Schuetter was the son of Appleton tailor, Henry and his wife Mary who lived at 330 W. Sixth St. Karl joined his father in the tailoring business which became the largest of its kind in Northeastern Wisconsin.
Karl married Pearl Balliet, sister of Lester Balliet. Karl and Pearl lived the large Italianate home built by Adam Mertes at 603 S. Walnut St. in the 1920's in the Whorton house from 1930 through 1951.
In 1935 Karl and Pearl moved a home that was located on John street to 515 W. Fifth St.to save it from destruction.
