Pearl Balliet Schuetter was the wife of Karl and the sister of Lester Balliet. Karl and Pearl lived the large Italianate home built by Adam Mertes at 603 S. Walnut St. in the 1920's in the Whorton house from 1930 through 1951.
In 1935 the Schuetters moved a home that was located on John St. to 515 W. Fifth St. to save it from destruction.
