John S. Van Nortwick


In 1884 through 1897 Van Nortwick appears in the city directory as President of the Green Bay & Mississippi Canal Co. By 1887 he owned Appleton Pulp and Paper company which was run by Henry Rogers was the Vice President of the Appleton Electric Light and Power Company. He also founded the Combined Locks Paper Co. In 1896 he was President of the Children's Home on the corner of Story and Fifth streets.

The Van Nortwicks built a home, which no longer exists, on W. Prospect Ave. overlooking the Green Bay & Mississippi Canal Co.
