Mary Smudde Slattery and her husband Frank Slattery built 410 W. Prospect Ave. in 1908 on what was the site of her parents John and Anna's 1860's home.
Mary's mother was a confectioner and several of the children maintained the family ice cream and candy business into the third generation.
