Minnie Hoh Gehring


Minnie Hoh was born in Grand Chute township, May 28, 1880, the daughter of John Samuel Hoh. She married Andrew Gehring October 18, 1899. They had no children.

In 1926, Minnie Hoh Gehring acquired the north house at 414-416 S. State St. to manage and support her invalid sister's needs. Her father had purchased the south house in 1910 for the rental imcome to support Helen. A building permit was issued in that year to Minnie's husband Andrew Gehring to remodel the residences and build 2 garages at a cost of $6,000.

Though Minnie owned the homes for fifty years, she and Helen never lived there. Today, these buildings, each containing two separate living units, remain under one ownership.
