John R. Heinzkill operated a soap works for many years in the building now occupied by Frank’s Pizza Palace, 815 West College Ave. The company was founded by his father John Heinzkill in 1893.

Despite the difference in spelling, he was a distant cousin of Theodore Heintzkill who owned a saloon and boarding house at 803 S. Memorial Dr. (formerly 365 Cherry.)
