Henry Gloudemans, along with Roscoe Gage, founded Appleton's largest locally owned department store which flourished until the 1980's. He was also Secretary-Treasurer of the Gloudemans-Gage Co.
In 1925 he occupied the former home of Cynthia Conkey at 433 W. Prospect Ave.
In 1930 he built a brick and tile Georgian Revival residence at 603 S. State St.
Henry A. Gloudemans died suddenly in his home at 315 S. Walnut St. on Tuesday, June 19, 1962. His obituary appeared on the front page of the June 20, 1962 Appleton Post Crescent.
