528 W. Fifth St.
Street number prior to 1925: 992 Fifth

The date of construction of this home is not know. This address does not appear in the 1884-1898 city directories. However, a home on the "n e cor State and 5th" is probably the home in which the Cleggett/Hollensworth family lived in 1884. This was ths closest home to the northeast corner of State and 5th at that time. The street address was probably changed to Fifth St. when the house at 522 S State St., which now stands on the northeast corner, was built.

The house was occupied from 1887 to 1889 by papermakers Greenleaf and Edgar Gerry. Mrs. Helen L. Sloan (or Sloane) lived here from 1925-1930.
