Elizabeth Plauses Weiland was born about 1806 in Prussia. She immigrated to the United States with her chidren in 1856. She lived with her son, Appleton pioneer Nicholas Weiland in the home at 925 Sixth (now 403 W. Sixth St. at the southwest corner of Sixth and Elm) from the time it was built in 1877.
