This house dates back to 1870. The 1889 through 1896 city directories have the Kamps family living here. Theodore W. Kamps was a harnessmaker. His daughter Anna was a milliner. Their business was at 943 College, now 421 W. College Ave. Other members of the Kamps family living here were wife Mary, sons Fedinand, Willie and Adolph and another daughter Louisa. In 1925 the occupants of this two-resident home were Louis O. Schweitzer in 620 and Walter H. Herrmann in 622.
