George L. Potts was the owner of G. L. Potts & Co., a creamery and manufacturer of pasteurizing machinery, where he patented machines for pasturizing milk. He and his wife Mary D. "Mamie" Bushnell Potts lived at 404 W. Prospect Ave. from 1897 unil his death in 1898 at age 30.
