The 1900 date of construction given in the city real estate record is an approximation. From 1889 to 1896 cigar maker Frank Schreiter and his family occupied this home. Also living in the home were Mrs. Katie Schreiter, widow of Charles; Miss Mary Schreiter; Miss Katie Schreiter and Miss Theresa Schreiter. Another cigar maker, William Ricker, lived here from 1893 to 1925. In 1925 it was the site of the William J. Ricker real estate office. This is now a commercial property.
