Attorney Thomas Ryan and his wife Elizabeth were the first owners of the home at 703 S. Memorial Dr. (then 395 Cherry.) Elizabeth still lived there in 1951 and died November 24, 1963.
According to her husband's entry in Henry Ryan's History of Outagamie County, Wisconsin, [1911?], Part 14, they were married October 27, 1897, and had three daughters and two sons by 1911.
Elizabeth's obiturary in the November 25, 1963 Appleton Post Crescent stated she was born March 21, 1875 in Appleton and lived here all her life. She was survived by four daughters, two sons, 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
