Street number prior to 1925: 867 Prospect
On Prospect east of Elm St., this 1902 Shingle home was at one time in the Second Ward. It was built by bookkeeper Raymond Bertschy, son of pioneer grocery and dry goods dealer Perry Bertschy. In 1925 the house was occupied by the dentist Dr. Clarence E. Schmidt and his wife Elizabeth, and Phillip Freiders.
This home is located in the West Prospect Avenue Historic District which is listed in the State and National Register of Historic Places.
