Street number prior to 1925: 888 Prospect
Built in 1880 east of Elm St., this Greek/Colonial Revival home was at that time in the Second Ward. Early residents included the families of Robert Mitchell, owner-operator of Mitchell Brothers Clothing, County Clerk Albert Raisler, and shoe store owner Oscar Rossmeissl. In 1925 Mrs. Georgiana Rossmeissl lived in the house.
This home is located in the West Prospect Avenue Historic District which is listed in the State and National Register of Historic Places.
