The Greek Revival home at 303 S. Walnut St.built in 1875 by James P. Lennon who served as County Sheriff and Justice of the Peace.
James, born in Ireland in around 1832, was the great-great grandfather of the famous Lennon Sisters.
By 1860 James, wife Catherine, Mary, Margaret and Katie were in Green Bay. Mary at four years old was the eldest and was born in WIsconsin.

According to the 1890 Veterans Schedules Record, James incurred no disability but was wounded in the leg.
In 1870 the family, now including Rosa, James Jr., Johnny, George and Willie, lived on a farm in Freedom, Wisconsin.
In the 1880 census James is listed as a cattle dealer. By that time the family had added Calley, Lizzie and Frankie.
